On 27 April, 2012, on the vigil of the beatification of the great Italian economist and sociologist, a pioneer and apostle of Rerum Novarum, at the offices of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, was held the seminar "In the school of Giuseppe Toniolo," sponsored by five institutions: the International Forum of Azione Cattolica, the Pontifical Councils for Justice and Peace and for the Laity, the Institute of International Law of Peace "Giuseppe Toniolo," and the Scientific Committee and organizer of the Social Weeks of Italian Catholics.
The seminar on the theme "The commitment and contribution of the laity in the international community for a world more just, more peaceful, more human" has had among the speakers Bishop Josef Clemens, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, and Bishop Mario Toso, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, who has revived the relevance of the testimony of Toniolo, in particular its commitment to give a foundation to scientific and cultural '"Christian social order."
